Production Sous Chef

Sprinly is an organic plant-based meal delivery startup on a mission to make it as easy as possible for others to live healthier, happier lives. We launched in the summer of 2016 in Cleveland, and we’ve been working to rapidly scale our operations.  Located in Valley View, Ohio, we currently ship our healthy meals throughout Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, West Virginia, Virginia, Nashville, Washington D.C., and Chicago! In the next 12 months, we are working on quickly expanding across the East Coast. Within the next couple of years, we will open a West Coast facility and serve clients nationally — from San Francisco all the way to New York City.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all recipes and instructions, hold culinary team members accountable for information and preparations on recipes
  • Able to prepare and cook all recipes with consistency and efficiency, and create a quality product
  • Chop vegetables, prepare and make dressings and sauces, and other food preparation as needed
  • Manage a small team of cooks to prepare and make meals on a weekly rotating menu
  • Maintain a clean work station throughout shift
  • Cool food to the proper temperature in the correct duration, and logging yields and temperatures
  • Work directly with Culinary Operations Manager and Supervisor to ensure every product meets Quality Control standards
  • Keep cooler organized and ensure products are labeled correctly
  • Report and track food waste or equipment issues
  • Remain calm, control stress, and have a team-player attitude
  • Communicate information and changes to the team in a friendly, professional way
  • Follow established safety, cleaning, and security procedures
  • Maintain food quality by enforcing organization standards

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years Kitchen Experience with some supervisory/managerial experience
  • Preferred: Culinary Arts Degree
  • Preferred: Minimum 2 years related experience at a high-volume operation
  • Preferred: ServSafe Certification
  • Preferred: First-aid & CPR Training
  • Preferred: Customer Service experience (1 year)

SCHEDULE & LOCATION:

  • Our kitchen operates Thursday through Monday from 8 AM until the evening with varying end times (roughly 8 hours per day for this role)
  • Newly renovated kitchen is located in Valley View
